Custom Waistband Men's Underwear

The waistband is the part most buyers mean when they say custom men's underwear. This page is for DTC brands, retailers and subscription services who need the band specified: width, construction, artwork and how it is approved. Catalog lettering is a placement sample.

Who this brief is for

  • DTC brands

The band is the logo customers photograph. You need the repeat and the recovery agreed, not just a front mock-up.

  • Retailers

You may use one band across briefs and boxer briefs. Confirm whether those cuts can share a width and a logo height.

  • Subscription services

A new artwork version should be named. Otherwise a reorder can ship the previous band.

Decisions to make before you compare quotes

Write the band as a component. The body fabric and the leg length are related, but they are not the same line on the quotation.

Sampling path

  1. Step 1

Match the photo to the cut

Some references are briefs with no leg. Others are boxer briefs. Say which cut uses the band. A brief band width is not automatically right for a long-leg boxer brief.

  2. Step 2

Choose the method that can hold the artwork

Fine detail may not weave cleanly at a narrow width. Ask which method can reproduce the logo at the width you chose, then approve that method on elastic, not only on a slide.

  3. Step 3

Keep the artwork version with the order

Name the file and the date. When you reorder, say whether the band artwork is unchanged.

Questions buyers ask

What should we send for a custom waistband?

Vector artwork, the band width, logo height, repeat, colors, and the garment sizes that must use it. Say whether you need a woven, printed or covered band.

Can the first garment sample skip the custom band?

Only if you agree to that limit in writing. A plain sample does not approve a logo elastic you have not seen.

Does the factory set the minimum on this page?

No. Ask how the band minimum is counted for your artwork and widths. It can differ from the garment quantity.
