How to Choose a Men’s Underwear OEM Factory in China

Choosing a men’s underwear factory in China is a sequence of checks, not a ranking. Directory lists and website claims do not tell you who will sign the order, who will cut the fabric, or whether a sample matches the garment you intend to sell. This guide says what to verify before you send a tech pack or a deposit, which questions to ask every supplier, and how to decide whether to continue.

Start with the order, not a supplier ranking

Write the garment before you write a shortlist. A factory that is suitable for a plain cotton boxer brief may be the wrong place for a custom jacquard waistband, a seamless program or a contoured pouch. Name the style, the fabric direction, the branding, the destination and whether you need development or a finished reference.

  • Style: boxer brief, trunk, brief, boxer short, seamless or another cut.
  • Development: your pattern, an existing pattern you will adjust, or a finished product you might reorder.
  • Branding: plain, a label, a printed band or a custom elastic.
  • Destination: the country where you will import and sell, because labels and documents follow that market.

Separate the seller, the exporter and the factory

In China the company that replies to your email, the company on the invoice and the address where the underwear is sewn can be three different parties. Ask for each name and address in writing before you compare quotations.

Parties to match before you shortlist
PartyWhat to requestHold if
Contracting sellerLegal name on the quotation and the account that will be paidThe name on the quote does not match the company you have been talking to
ExporterThe name that will appear on the commercial documentsA different exporter appears later with no explanation you can check
Production siteThe address where cutting and sewing for this order will happenThe site changes, or the supplier will not say which steps happen elsewhere

The private label supplier checklist is the evidence list for those names once you have a sample and a quotation. This page is the earlier decision: whether the parties are clear enough to spend time on sampling.

Check that they make this kind of underwear

A general apparel factory and a men’s underwear factory are not interchangeable. Underwear fit is decided by waistband construction, rise, pouch, leg opening and elastic recovery. Ask what the proposed factory actually cuts and sews for this order, and which steps another company would do.

  • Which styles have they made that are close to yours: the cut, not a category name.
  • Which steps happen at the named site: knitting, dyeing, cutting, sewing, elastic, printing, packing.
  • Which steps are subcontracted, and whether you can name that subcontractor on the order.
  • Whether a custom waistband is woven by them, by an elastic mill, or bought as a stock band.

A catalog photograph is not proof of capability. It shows a product that was pictured. Ask for a physical sample of the construction you are discussing.

Use a sample as evidence, not a brochure

A sample answers one question at a time. A plain body does not approve a logo waistband that was not on it. A size sample in the base size does not approve the grade. A photo of a showroom does not approve the site that will sew your order.

  1. Ask which sample you will receive first, and which decisions it is allowed to prove.
  2. Measure it against your reference or your draft specification.
  3. Record differences in writing before you ask for the next round.
  4. Do not schedule bulk production against a verbal approval.

The sample development guide lists the stages and what each one can prove. The first-order tech pack checklist lists what to lock before the purchase order.

Questions to ask before you shortlist

  • Who is the contracting seller, and who will be paid?
  • Where will this order be cut and sewn, and which steps happen somewhere else?
  • Can you show a comparable men’s underwear sample, not only a catalog image?
  • Who keeps the pattern if we develop one, and may it be used for another buyer?
  • How is the minimum counted for the body, the fabric, the colour and any custom elastic?
  • What does the sample fee cover, and is it credited only under conditions you state?
  • Who may inspect, and at which address?
  • Which documents can you provide for a claim I want to print, and what do they cover?

What YXLP publishes about our own factory

The factory page names Zhongshan Haowen Clothing Co., Ltd and the Zhongshan address we publish. Compare that legal name and address with the quotation and the purchase documents. A matching name is one check. It does not by itself confirm a fabric, a process, a minimum or a test result for your order.

If you want us considered, send the same brief you would send any factory: style, reference or sketches, destination, and the quantity split you are considering. We will say what we can review and what still has to be confirmed.

Common questions

Is YXLP a factory or a trading company?

YXLP is the brand of Zhongshan Haowen Clothing Co., Ltd, a men’s underwear factory in Zhongshan, China. The factory page publishes the company name and address. Match those details to your quotation, and ask which steps for your order happen at that address.

Do you publish factory certifications?

No. We do not list certifications on this website. If your buyer or market requires a named document, ask which records can be shared for that order and check the issuer, scope and date yourself.

Can I visit the factory?

Ask when you send the brief. A visit is only useful if you know which address you are visiting and which process you are there to see. We confirm visit arrangements per inquiry rather than promising them on this page.

Should I choose the supplier with the lowest quotation?

Only after the quotations describe the same garment, the same quantity split, the same branding and the same delivery basis. A lower figure that excludes the waistband, the labels or the pack is not a lower cost for the product you will receive.

Ready to brief a style?

Send a reference garment or sketch, the quantities you are considering and your destination. The quotation will state what is included and how minimums are counted.
