Executive Summary

Compare fabric and print requirements for men’s underwear, then validate color, hand feel and wash performance on the intended material before approval.

Print results depend on the fabric composition, construction, surface and chosen process. Buyers should evaluate the complete fabric-and-print combination on the intended garment rather than assume a method will behave the same across materials.

Start with the fabric and artwork

Identify the fiber composition, fabric weight, stretch, color and finish. Share the artwork, print size, placement, colors and any repeat requirements. Ask the supplier which print processes are suitable for the exact fabric and whether the proposed method has limitations on stretch, fine detail or color matching.

Questions for the sampling stage

  • Will the print affect hand feel, stretch, breathability or opacity?
  • How will color and alignment be checked across sizes and production pieces?
  • What care or wash test should be used to assess cracking, fading, bleeding or transfer?
  • Does the sample use the same fabric, print process and finishing planned for production?

Approve a complete reference

Review a printed sample on the target fabric, inspect placement and color under consistent lighting, and test it using the intended care instructions. Keep the approved artwork, color reference, fabric specification and sample together. Document any tolerances and inspection criteria before placing the order.

For OEM or private-label sourcing, include fabric and print details in the tech pack. Browse the product range, review the manufacturing overview, or send the design brief for discussion.
